Here's my beautiful girl. She is 15 months old now. Yes, FIFTEEN months old! I'm in love with this girl. There is no greater gift than my precious Kate.

Kate just started walking about 2 weeks ago. My peditrician told me they walk first or talk first and wow is she a talker! A few of her words...
Ma-ma
Da-da
Kate (just started saying that tonight!)
Bah (ball)
Chi (chip)
Ke-chaa (ketchup)
Hi (and a wave)
Bye Bye (waving)
Hah-low (hello) said anytime she sees a cell phone
Ah-dah (all done)
ahhh-pag (a flag)...Kate is obsessed with flags and balls
owe-sye (outside)
Nae-Nae (her adopted aunt Shari who goes by Nae Nae)
Lellah (her adopted aunt Leslie who goes by Lelly)
Leeeesh (leash)
Ah-cho (Nacho, Nae Nae's dog)
Chi-see (Trixie, Nae Nae's other dog)
Inn-ya (Winnie, Lelly's dog)
Woo-Woo (woof woof)
Trot
Boh (book)
Hes (yes)
Hode (hold)
Eye
Ear
Nooow (Nose)
Num Num (for yum-yum or whenever she wants to have a sip of your drink :)
This (actually says "this" perfectly)...and anytime she wants anything
Bot (bottle)...and yes, she is still on the bottle!
Kate's favorite thing to do is play with balls. We have every size and every color that you can imagine. We seriously have probably 15 balls in this house :) She lovesssss her friends! I've met some really great moms that have babies around the same age as Kate. We normally have 2 playdates a week plus I'm in a program called Stroller Strides where Kate gets to see her friends while Mommy works out! We've also been enjoying "Toddlin' Time" which is a really cool place where the babies can climb, slide and roll around a big gym made just for little ones. She LOVES it. We spent lots of time at the library this year enjoying Storytime with her friends. Kate also LOVES the swimming pool. There's a great pool about 4 miles from our house that has a walk-in baby pool with a slide and huge water fall. She's also enjoying her new water table. Best $40 I've ever spent. She loves this!

Kate is on a great schedule. She sleeps 12 hours a night with a 2 hour nap every afternoon. She's up at 7:15 AM. We eat breakfast and then head to Stroller Strides at 8:30. We then come home, relax for a bit and at 11:30 she eats lunch. Some of her favorite foods are chicken nuggets with "ke-chaa", strawberries and cooked carrots. She also loves nutrigrain bars and waffles with syrup. She's a very good eater! We then head up stairs to read books at noon and she's asleep by 12:30. At 2:30 we are racing to get a good snack and to head out to our next activity. Kate's social calendar is busier than anyone elses I know :) We are home from whatever activity we've got going on by 5:00 in time to make dinner for Kate. Brian is home by 6:00....hooray for everyone! Kate loves hearing the garage open and heads right for the door to greet Daddy! 6:45 we're heading upstairs for bath, books, milk and in bed by 7:15 at the latest! Brian and I have dinner (that he makes while I'm putting Kate to bed), relax for a bit and then I work most evenings. I'm very lucky to work for such fantastic people who allow me to be working part time, all from home. I am with Kate every day and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I must add that a day is never complete without BK seeing her Nae Nae or Lelly who have adopted Kate as their own who live 2 and 4 houses down from us! Kate is very attached to them and we feel very blessed to have them in our lives.
OK, so I know Kate sounds like the perfect baby....but.......there are things that she doesn't like. Having her hair washed and rinsed in the tub...wow, you'd think life was over. Same with taking away my "hello" (cell phone). Being in the car or stroller for a long period of time. She is way too busy to be stuck in one spot. If it's past nap time or bed time you don't want to be here :) She also can be a little rough. We have to tell her "gentle" when she interacts with Cali and Dewey, or when she's trying to show us where our eyes are :) She can show you where your nose, mouth and eyes are. Beware of eyes!
She will blow you a kiss good-bye or just make the kiss sound. She'll also hold up her pointer finger when you ask how old she is. She loves Barney and The Wiggles. And she LOVES her chair. Here she is chilling :)
Photo taken by iPhone, not Brian's camera (I'd be in trouble if I didn't make this clear :)
Well, that's all for now, see you next year! Just kidding. I'll try and do better!
Hey Everybody-That beautiful, intelligent doll is my granddaughter !
ReplyDeleteCape Grandmother
Beautiful girl! I'm impressed with all her talking!! I guess that could be true because Carter had a huge vocabulary and didn't walk until 15 months and Landon didn't say anything until 20 months but walked at 12 months!
ReplyDeleteHm. I feel Laura was late in walking and talking, but she never really tried very hard. She'd only do something once she could go all in. She never toddled or took baby steps, she just took off running at 14 months. She babbled a lot early and then probably did words on and off, but then she hit a spot where she just said a ton. It wasn't until recently that she started full sentences, but now she talks all the time.
ReplyDeleteBaby Kate is absolutely adorable. She looks so happy. I love smiley babies (perhaps because I didn't really have one). That's a nice schedule.
